Yikes. I am in agreement with the fundamental premise, i.e., evolution explains life as it exists on Earth but this has got to be the silliest and most irrational presentation I've seen attempting to make the point. What portion of the volume of the Earth is inhabitable??? I'm going to extract that, along with all of the "or it's like ...." analogies as among the best examples of straw man arguments it's ever been my pleasure to appreciate.
I'm going to re-read Godel, Escher, Bach in an attempt to reclaim the IQ points I lost watching that video.
The suggestion that the universe/Earth are fine-tuned to life is often made by creationists, and the point that only a tiny fraction of it actually is, is perfectly valid. That said, I do agree the "volume of the earth" bit was a bit of a rare slip from CDK.

Were I in agreement (which I'm emphatically not) with the intelligent design proponents that make this claim, I'd point out that to an all-powerful creator, what difference does the fractional proportion of the universe that is hospitable to human life make? In their construct, that's the portion we're in. So what?
There are so many better arguments against ID that knocking down this particular straw man is counterproductive, in my humble opinion.
I have to agree with Rob, I agree with the premise that the universe is not fine tuned for life, but rather it is life which is fine tuned for the universe, but I don't think this video makes a very good case.
I am disappointed, CDK's videos are normally of a much higher standard than this.
I think the better position to attack this argument from is simply to point out the foolishness of saying something like "If gravity were a bit weaker stars and planets wouldn't be able to form and therefore life would be impossible." This is tantamount to stating "If things were different then things would be different." This is perfectly true, but irrelevant.
The improbability of things being the way they are is also irrelevant since it's already happened. If you've tossed a coin and it's come up heads 19 times in a row you'd be foolish to suggest that it can't possibly come up heads again because the probability of 20 heads in a row is less than 0.0001%. The improbability of what has already happened (the 19 previous heads, or the physical laws of the universe being what they are) is irrelevant since they HAVE happened, however unlikely that was in the first place.
yes .. allah is the one who created everything in this world .. just be fair with yourself and don`t forget about allah simply because you hate muslems .. allah is real and muslem who are the one to get the blame because they are the one who didn`t do what allah told the to do so that they put themselves in a position of being hated instead of being well liked as allah plan for them .. so just read about islam and forget about muslems because islam is not like muslems at all .
