Biography:
I'm Martin Robbins, a researcher and science writer. I live in Windsor, and work in R&D solving scientific problems for a small software company. Previously, I worked as an ecological modeller for the British Antarctic Survey. The common research theme in my career to date has been understanding complex systems in various domains.
Why do I do this?
Because I'm passionate about science, and appalled at the lack of evidence-based policy in government. Effective democracy depends on people being able to rationally appraise the available evidence, and there are too many barriers to this process in place now thanks largely to the media. My politics are neutral - all I care about is that there is evidence.
My Writing Elsewhere:
The Guardian
Liberal Conspiracy - Weekly column.
The World is my Country - Fortnightly column.
Why Science - Documentary project.
I'm looking to refine and promote my writing further, so if you're looking for a writer or guest blogger, drop me a line.
