Joseph Obi Accuses President of Manslaughter / Launches Reality TV Show

BPSDBWhile I wait for news of my complaint to the Irish authorities over the infamous "Professor" Joseph Obi's rogue "business" RCAM (coming soon I'm promised), here is another glimpse into former-Doctor Joseph Obi's bizarre world of fantasy (and surely libel?!), after which we have a reality TV competition to enter! Woo!

The latest post on one of Obi's many blogs refers to "... the untimely death of a Poor Young NHS (National Health Service) Patient under the abjectly irresponsible care of General Medical Council President Professor Sir Graeme Robertson Dawson Catto.", and goes on to state that "The GMC President has already publicly confessed to his Gross Clinical Incompetence which brutally heralded the said death, but there are still no Statutory Coroner's Records which duly noted such a lucid confession at the very time of the Alleged Unlawful Killing (Medical Manslaughter)".

Before we even look at what the extravagantly named Catto has done, two obvious points stick out further than a jogger's nipples. Firstly, this is Joseph Obi talking, the guy who can no longer practise medicine due to his, erm, incompetence putting patients at risk. Secondly, Obi has something of a personal gripe with Catto, who is frequently mentioned on his blogs - so frequently in fact that Obi has managed to spread his slanders all over the results of a google search for Catto's name. Indeed, over a year ago, Obi accused Catto of, erm, "Impunitous Professional Wrecklessness" and - no laughing at the back - "Bottomless Regulatory Brigandage!".

So has Catto slaughtered any patients? No. This all stems back to an NHS initiative to bring doctor's mistakes out into the open, to create a culture where doctors can feel able to report problems: "More than a dozen senior British medical figures have publicly owned up to past clinical errors as part of a campaign to encourage other doctors to report incidents and improve the safety of patients". As part of this, Catto admitted that "...as a general consultant physician he missed the fact that a patient had a blood infection. The man developed meningitis and died".

Hardly "medical manslaughter" now, is it. It's certainly not in the league of, say, giving a psychiatric patient the telephone number of a dating agency and failing to administer blood-thinning medication to an emergency patient suffering a heart attack.

What's more bizarre is that this "revelation" occurred in 2005... so why is Obi dragging it up now? Well perhaps he's trying to generate publicity for his awesome new reality TV show!

"Wellness FM Online Reality Show - Could you be the next Celebrity Heath Guru?

If so, then all that you simply need to do is quickly send us a 3 Minute Video Recording which ethically displays all those Amazing Professional Skills to prove exactly why the next big thing in the world of Health should be you!"

So come on guys, get your webcams out and get Youtube-ing. You might not want to hold your breathe for a result though: "The Selection Process ethically commences on January the 1st 2010 and ends of the 31st of December 2011". Say what you like, the man is thorough.

And the prize? "The Candidate with the Highest Rating Factor (as Judged by Public Vote) wins a 100% Free Online Scholarship to study Alternative Medicine - plus a one-way Ticket to Fame and Fortune!".

Yes, you could be hob-nobbing with the President of Gambia before you know it...
